Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild - Résumé

Born in Heidelberg in 1943, the entrepreneur, scientist and founder Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild initially studied chemistry at the University of Heidelberg. After receiving his doctorate in natural products chemistry he completed his studies with a post-doc course in business sciences in Munich.

In 1975 he joined the company Rudolf Wild-Werke in Eppelheim near Heidelberg, which was founded by his father, Rudolf Wild. He worked there for twenty years as an executive partner, playing a decisive role in expanding the Wild group into a successful international player. In 1996 he resigned from his managerial office and many years later also left the company in his role as partner. 1996 also marked for him a new beginning as he founded Heidelberger Naturfarben the year after. In the meantime the company has established a great reputation for itself under the new name of Tinti GmbH und Co. KG as a manufacturer of bath additives and skin care products for children. Since 2002 its shareholdings have been placed under the umbrella of the Dr. Rainer Wild Holding.

Apart from his entrepreneurial activities, Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild has also pursued his scientific calling for many years. From 1993 to 2004 he was a lecturer at the University of Hohenheim, where he was made honorary senator in 1996 and later awarded an honorary professorship. In 2011 Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Hohenheim.

Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild commenced his involvement in his foundations in 1991 when he set up the Dr. Rainer Wild-Stiftung, which is committed to an up-to-date and responsible approach to nutrition and is a favourite address for scientists, disseminators and members of the public wishing to inform themselves. The foundation has been made sole heir to Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild, thus ensuring it a lasting future. Likewise the Stiftung für Fruchtmalerei und Skulptur (today Kunststiftung Rainer Wild) founded by Prof. Dr. Rainer Wild has from 2009 onward supported artistic and cultural reflections on the theme of “fruit” in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
